River had given her parents a big hug before they left for their own home. She had been flipping through the new books she had gotten the week before but they didn’t seem to keep her interest for long. A thought came to her. Maybe Ella was home. She smiled and grabbed her jacket before heading out towards her daughter’s flat.

She still hadn’t gotten used to that. Amy and Rory could tell something was on her mind when they arrived but they had chosen to ignore it, assuming something had happened between her and the Doctor.

River quickly closed the distance between the flats and was knocking on Ella’s door.
