I’ll be taking a mini hiatus on rp to avoid spoilers for The Name of The Doctor. I won’t be able to watch it until Monday :( and I’ll be at a friend’s for most of the weekend anyway.
Terra managed to get the TARDIS going without much trouble, when Terra flew, the old girl often helped her. She pressed the stabilizers as her mother often instructed and then landed her. She looked on the camera and gave herself a mental pat on the back. “Mum, we’ve…
“Okay!” She linked arms with her mother, “lets go.” She grinned and walked toward the TARDIS door. “Hmm.” She looked outside, “it’s wonderful,” Terra went with her mother outdoors,
River smiled brightly as they stepped outside. “Oh, you picked a gorgeous day, Terra.”
Clara giggled at that, rolling her eyes slightly. “There’s always got to be one person like that, hm? Thinking they’re someone amazing.” Briefly she thought of her dreams, how she was someone different, not amazing but still. “I doubt any of them…
River placed a gentle hand on Clara’s cheek as she kissed her back, letting out a small hum.
Clara giggled at that, rolling her eyes slightly. “There’s always got to be one person like that, hm? Thinking they’re someone amazing.” Briefly she thought of her dreams, how she was someone different, not amazing but still. “I doubt any of them could know more than you though.”
She nodded. “Dreams and aspirations are fine. But some things a just delusions You can’t be a fictional character.” She smiled softly and kissed Clara’s cheek again, “Thank you, love.”
She nodded slightly. “Whatever you say, dear.” She toyed with a lock of Clara’s hair. “Have I told you about my classes?’
She shook her head, smiling slightly and relaxing completely. “No. You said you were a professor of archaeology right? Those must be some fun classes to teach.”
River smiled again and replied, “It is fun. There’s always a few who think they know more than me or just don’t want to be there. And there’s almost always the one guy that thinks he can be Indiana Jones.”
She returned the kiss for a second and kept Clara close. She shrugged a little. “You never know. Everyone has a little bit of impossibility in them.”
“Can we not talk about impossibility right now then?” she asked softly, not looking away from River. “I… I’ll talk about anything else. I just don’t know what…”
She nodded slightly. “Whatever you say, dear.” She toyed with a lock of Clara’s hair. “Have I told you about my classes?’
River saw the tears threatening to fall in the younger woman’s eyes and laid a light kiss to Clara’s cheek. “Please don’t apologize for your emotions, darling. You’re human; it’s normal. And you can always call me if you need to.”
“I know.” Clara lifted her head, searching River’s eyes for a moment before moving closer, placing a chaste kiss on the older woman’s lips. She wrapped her free arm around River, fingers tracing random patterns along the fabric of her top. “Human… Yeah, I’m human, not some impossible girl like Grandfather believes…”
She returned the kiss for a second and kept Clara close. She shrugged a little. “You never know. Everyone has a little bit of impossibility in them.”
The Cyberplanner followed after her, keeping some distance between them but not much. “But I like it in here. She can barely break free. I won our chess match - she sacrificed her queen, River, for the lives of two children.” She smirked, tilting her head to the side. “Her queen is gone. In more ways than one I think.”
She sighed almost inaudibly. ’Course the Doctor would do something like that to save the lives of children. “Chess? That’s how you fought for control? What happened to the days where you just stole people to upgrade them?”
Automatically, she curled up closer to River, dimly noting how she still held her hand. Tears threatened to fall from her eyes again, and she shut them, hiding her face against the older woman’s shoulder. “Thank you,” she murmured, not quite knowing what she was thanking River for; for being here or for some other reason. “I’m sorry I was like that,” she added, lifting her head to look at her.
